Vini Hotel

Hotel 2-star in Beaune

Presentation

The Vini Hotel is first identified by its location. Opposite the Palais des Congrès, right on the edge of the A6, Beaune Centre exit. It is easy to get to, whether after a long drive or after a conference in the nearby halls.

As soon as you walk through the door, the decor in bright, tangy tones sets the mood. Nothing solemn here. Bold colors, and a reception desk open day and night. No matter what time you arrive, someone is there to hand over the keys.

The forty-three rooms have recently been refurbished. Air conditioning, flat-screen television, new mattresses. On paper, nothing spectacular, but everything works, which is what matters after a day on the wine route. The bathroom, however, remains modest in size. Shower, sink, and toilet are rather close together, a choice that follows the logic of a tight budget rather than that of great comfort.

On the ground floor, the breakfast room comes to life early in the morning. The buffet highlights local products: Comté cheese, rosette sausage, blackcurrant jam, local honey, alongside wholemeal sandwich bread and homemade cakes. You leave with a full stomach, without emptying your wallet.

Outside, a terrace and a few trees offer a shady spot in fine weather, away from the noise of the road. The enclosed, free parking reassures those traveling by car as well as by two-wheeler.

As for the location, it must be said honestly. You are not in Beaune’s historic center. It takes a good fifteen-minute walk, or five minutes by car, to reach the Hospices and the cobbled streets. Those dreaming of sleeping right across from a monument should look elsewhere. But for a stopover before the motorway, or to explore the wine route reachable within ten minutes by car, the location holds up rather well.

Around the hotel, a bakery and several restaurants make it possible to have dinner without getting back behind the wheel. Some rooms are also adapted for guests with reduced mobility, a detail rare enough in this price range to be worth mentioning.

Late in the evening, once your luggage is down, the drinks and snacks vending machine in the lobby comes in handy for a late-night craving, without needing to go back out to the car.
