Behind the address lies a family story. Hortense and Armand Groz, already owners of a Première Classe in Beaune, entrusted this new property to their son Victorien. Eight months of work were enough to transform a hotel that had been closed for several years into a two-star property with a look unlike anything else in the area.

From the moment you walk in, the tone is set. The colors change from one floor to the next: blue, yellow, orange, pink, green. Each room has its own, with a stretch of vintage wallpaper, a designer lamp, and furniture that nods to the 1970s. One detail often amuses regular guests: the toilet paper matches the room’s color scheme. The attention to detail says it all.

The rooms, however, remain compact. The bed fits comfortably, and the suitcase goes wherever it can. Nothing surprising for a two-star hotel designed as a stopover rather than a cocoon for a long stay, but the bedding, often praised by guests, more than makes up for the missing square footage.

On the ground floor, a press corner picks up the same vivid tones. There you’ll find a small library, a computer terminal, a stack of free newspapers that always lingers a bit, and a vending machine for a quick sweet or savory snack before heading back upstairs.

In the morning, the breakfast room opens onto large bay windows, Fermob tables and chairs, and an all-you-can-eat buffet with pain d’épices and local Comté cheese. There is an extra charge to enjoy it, as the room rate does not include it, but that is also what helps keep starting prices tight. In fine weather, the terrace takes over, with the garden and its pétanque court right next to it.

As for parking, the enclosed free lot has an electric vehicle charging point. An 18-hole golf course borders the property for anyone wanting to hit a few balls before getting back on the road. Two triple rooms are designed for accessibility, and two others connect to each other for families. Right in front of the hotel, a bus stop serves the station and Place Madeleine, in the very center of town.
